Permanent / Full Time

You will be working for Alliance Accountants Limited, a UK Accountancy Practice principally based in Gloucestershire and Herefordshire (England), assisting in the preparation of Annual Statutory Financial Statements for its UK Limited Company, Sole Traders and Partnership clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Entering Trial Balances (typically from Xero, QuickBooks, Kashflow) into TaxCalc Accounts - Production software.
  • Undertaking analytical reviews to investigate any significant variances in expenditure and income compared to previous year.
  • Reconciling all relevant balance sheet and P&L Accounts and preparing full working papers in Excel.
  • Raising any queries with Bookkeepers and Client Managers.
  • Passing Accounts to Client Managers for review and attending to any queries raised by them.
  • Initially any direct dealings with Alliance Accountants clients will be minimal, as your principal contacts will be Alliance Accountants staff.
  • Managing your own workload proactively to ensure that a targeted number of
accounts are prepared each week, and communicating any potential challenges or delays in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring all work is accurate and free of repeated errors, by closely reviewing your own output and learning from feedback to avoid recurring issues.
  • Committing to continuous improvement: although review points are expected initially, the same review comments should not be repeated over and over, indicating that you have successfully learned from previous feedback.
  • Completing daily timesheets, working within prompt, clearly defined timeframes, and accurately recording all tasks to meet reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree in accountancy or any accounting related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of working within an accountancy function.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, balanced with an understanding of materiality.
