UK Accountant (WFH)

You will be working for Alliance Accountants Limited, a UK Accountancy Practice principally based in Gloucestershire and Herefordshire (England), assisting in the preparation of Annual Statutory Financial Statements for its UK Limited Company, Sole Traders and Partnership clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Entering Trial Balances (typically from Xero, QuickBooks, Kashflow) into TaxCalc Accounts - Production software.
- Undertaking analytical reviews to investigate any significant variances in expenditure and income compared to previous year.
- Reconciling all relevant balance sheet and P&L Accounts and preparing full working papers in Excel.
- Raising any queries with Bookkeepers and Client Managers.
- Passing Accounts to Client Managers for review and attending to any queries raised by them.
- Initially any direct dealings with Alliance Accountants clients will be minimal, as your principal contacts will be Alliance Accountants staff.
- Managing your own workload proactively to ensure that a targeted number of
accounts are prepared each week, and communicating any potential challenges or delays in a timely manner. - Ensuring all work is accurate and free of repeated errors, by closely reviewing your own output and learning from feedback to avoid recurring issues.
- Committing to continuous improvement: although review points are expected initially, the same review comments should not be repeated over and over, indicating that you have successfully learned from previous feedback.
- Completing daily timesheets, working within prompt, clearly defined timeframes, and accurately recording all tasks to meet reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree in accountancy or any accounting related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of working within an accountancy function.
- Experience with Accounts preparation within an Accountancy Practice would be a significant advantage but is not essential.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, balanced with an understanding of materiality.
- Good judgement and common sense.
- Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive mindset to manage multiple assignments and ensure weekly targets for accounts preparation are consistently met.
- Commitment to high-quality deliverables with minimal supervision once fully trained.
Location: Global One Building, Eastwood, Libis, Quezon City
Schedule: Monday to Friday, UK (3:30 PM to 11:30 PM MNL)
