AU Insolvency Accountant (Hybrid)
No insolvency experience needed—full training provided!
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Insolvency Accountant to support our Australian insolvency firm client in managing complex insolvency cases.
What is insolvency, you ask? Think of it as a financial CPR for businesses. The team steps in when a company is struggling to pay its debts and helps them wind down gracefully or bounce back through smart restructuring.
In this role, you will be involved in a broad range of formal insolvency appointments, including voluntary administrations, liquidations, receiverships, and bankruptcies. You'll also work on informal engagements, such as investigative accounting and restructuring/turnaround projects, providing valuable support across the entire insolvency process.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing firm and gain invaluable, hands-on experience in a specialized area of accounting. If you are eager to develop your skills in insolvency and are ready to contribute to impactful client engagements, we encourage you to apply!
What You'll Be Doing
- Onboard new insolvency clients into relevant systems.
- Prepare standard notifications for new appointments.
- Prepare and monitor ASIC statutory lodgments.
- Assist in drafting reports for key stakeholders, including creditors.
- Operate insolvency accounting software to input, process, and maintain financial data.
- Prepare and lodge BAS for insolvency appointments.
- Generate and analyze financial reports for insolvent entities using Xero and MYOB.
- Analyze bank statements using specialized software and tools.
- Conduct investigations into transactions made before appointments.
- Manage tasks related to the finalization of liquidation and bankruptcy matters.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of working experience in audit is highly preferred.
- No prior experience in insolvency is required; full training will be provided, and candidates should be open and eager to learn this specialized area of accounting.
- Familiarity with Xero accounting software is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience working within an international practice is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high standard of work.
- Must be able to work onsite in our Eastwood, Quezon City office daily for the first month, transitioning to a hybrid setup (3x a week in the office) thereafter.
- Must have a stable internet connection. The designated remote work area must be in a private room, separate from shared spaces used by other household members.
