As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and assisting with various financial tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Payroll
- Categorise and publish items in Hubdoc.
- Enter and categorise financial transactions into accounting software (Xero).
- Set up supplier rules in Hubdoc and bank rules in Xero for efficiency.
- Reconcile bank transactions and credit card statements.
- Assist with processing accounts payable.
- Assist with processing payroll.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end reconciliations.
- Liaise with the bookkeeping for training and guidance on bookkeeping best practices.
- Prepare and review BAS, IAS, and payroll tax statements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and firm policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files in Xero and related systems.
Client Support & Administration
- Assist with document preparation, filing, and data entry.
- Maintain internal databases and ensure client records are up to date.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take direction from senior staff.
- Proactive approach with a willingness to assist where needed.
Team Participation & Development
- Work collaboratively with the bookkeeping and accounting team to achieve shared goals.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, firm policies, and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in all work.
- Support quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in accountancy or any accounting related field.
- 1-2 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting role.
- Experience with Xero and MS Office (Excel).
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles, payroll, and Australian taxation system.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Team player with a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Must have a stable internet connection for a work-from-home arrangement. The designated work area must be in a private room, separate from shared spaces used by other household members.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, AU (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM MNL)
