Our Australian client is seeking a skilled Accountant to assist, liaise, and correspond with Tax and Business Advisors in managing clients' accounting, taxation, and bookkeeping needs. Your role will involve handling financial transactions, preparing financial reports and tax returns, and managing BAS preparation—all while maintaining accuracy and adhering to professional guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support to the Team Leader in managing client accounting, taxation, and bookkeeping needs, including but not limited to General Ledger work, ITR preparation, BAS and PAYG instalments/variations, comment and review of assessments, general inquiries, and bookkeeping.
  • Assist Tax & Business Advisers, as directed by the Team Leader, in fulfilling General Ledger work and other business needs of clients.
  • Prepare BAS statements and financial returns in collaboration with accountants.
  • Liaise with clients as needed to ensure the completion of accounting, taxation, and bookkeeping tasks.
  • Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and on time. Seek immediate assistance from a senior team member when necessary.
  • Prepare income tax returns and financial statements for business clients, ensuring accuracy and integrity of client-provided information, compliance with end-of-year tax return checklists, financial statements prepared using Xero, proper document saving in client folders, and correct use of the designated workpaper module.
  • Generate invoices for bookkeeping and accounting clients under your responsibility.
  • Collaborate with Tax & Business Advisers on client work matters and provide necessary feedback.
  • Handle general client inquiries, keep clients updated on job progress, and respond to phone calls promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date timesheets daily.
  • Participate in all internal and external training sessions to stay updated on industry changes and maintain professional education.
  • Perform other job-related functions as required by management.

 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with an Australian firm is required.
  • Experience in Australian taxation is required.
  • Collaborates effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
  • Demonstrates clear, concise, and confident communication in both written and verbal forms.
  • Must have a stable internet connection for a work-from-home arrangement. The designated work area must be in a private room, separate from shared spaces used by other household members.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, AU (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM MNL)
