An Insider’s Perspective: Tailored Assessments for You

You’ve made it past the first few hurdles – your CV stood out, and your initial interview left a solid impression!

Now, you're onto the next phase of your journey with us: the Assessments Stage.

What It Is & Why It Matters

Frontline Accounting is known to be an excellent provider of both accounting and non-accounting staff to our clients. Our role-specific assessments may be one of the secret ingredients in our recipe for sifting through candidates because we’ve fine-tuned them.

After all, this stage isn’t just about us – we want this to be meaningful for you too, so our tests are designed to be relevant and (fingers crossed!) a little more engaging than your average assessments.

Think of this as a sneak peek into the kind of work you’ll be doing – a chance to flex your thinking muscles and give us a glimpse of how you approach challenges and apply your skills in context.

What We Look For

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being at your best!

To move forward in the process, you will be asked to complete a couple of assessments. So, let me give you a quick rundown of what you need to prepare for.

If you happen to apply for our non-accounting roles – say, as an Administrative Assistant or Executive Assistant among others – expect to receive two assessments:

  1. Essay: This may take you back to your college days, but it's a great way for us to get to know you – not just what you say but how you say it. We’re looking for clarity and attention to detail. Reading the instructions is a must (your work must be between 300 to 500 words!) and more importantly, it should reflect your personal touch. While we welcome the use of AI to help refine your writing, we kindly ask that you do not rely on it entirely as our goal is to evaluate your professional writing skills and ability to express your thoughts in English. 

  2. Aptitude Test: Along with assessing your technical skills, we will also take a glimpse of your personality and evaluate your power skills; namely, problem solving, verbal reasoning, attention to detail, tech-savviness. Keep in mind that you will receive a link and password that will expire within 24 hours for this test. Hence, there is no need to download the file, simply complete the test directly via the link within the provided time.

 If you’re aspiring for a finance-related role – say, an Accountant or Bookkeeper - expect an additional assessment that is tailored to your background will come with the essay and aptitude test. 

  • Bookkeeping Assessment. 
  • AU Bookkeeping Assessment 
  • AU Sr. Accounting Assessment 
  • UK Bookkeeping Assessment 
  • Accounting Assessment 

Keep in mind that these assessments are timed and will automatically close after the 60 minute or 30-minute mark, so plan accordingly and focus!

While we totally understand that life happens and we're happy to offer extensions when needed, we highly encourage you to finish these assessments within 24 hours. The clock's ticking, but you’ve got this!

What Happens Next

Once you’ve completed your assessments, give yourself a pat on the back because that’s a big step forward!

From there, our team will review your results along with your overall application. We’re not just looking at scores – we’re also considering how your skills, work preferences, and communication style align with the role and our team culture.

If all this shows you're a strong fit for the role you applied for (or any of our other openings), we’ll be in touch to move you forward to the next step in our recruitment journey.

If there are areas that need clarification or we think you might’ve missed a detail, we will ask you to retake the exam. Don’t worry – it’s not necessarily a red flag. In fact, it’s a good sign that we see something promising in you and want to give you another shot. We give chances, not like your exes!

And if it’s not the right fit this time, you’ll still hear from us.
